Liz and Clayton’s Mürren elopement is the perfect example of how magical – and personal – a Swiss mountain wedding can be.
When Liz and Clayton first reached out to me as their Switzerland elopement photographer, they didn’t yet know the exact spot where they wanted to exchange their vows. They just knew it had to be somewhere quiet, with breathtaking mountain views in the Swiss Alps.
Both from the USA and visiting Switzerland for the very first time, they were choosing their location entirely from afar. After exploring different options online, they fell in love with the Bernese Oberland and chose a little car-free mountain village – Mürren.
As a destination wedding photographer based in Europe, I had never been to Mürren myself, so I was just as excited as they were to discover this beautiful place. I arrived the day before their elopement, wandered through the village, and captured some drone footage. The weather was perfect – the jagged cliffs opposite Mürren stood out sharply against the clear sky, and the whole village felt like something out of a fairytale. Since Liz and Clayton wanted to keep the photo and video session to around three hours, I used that afternoon to plan our route and find the perfect spots for their vows.
